What would you add to Minecraft if you could build your own feature?
Minecraft has one of the most interesting ecosystems in gaming because the game itself is only part of the experience. Mods, plugins, servers, datapacks, maps, resource packs, automation systems, and custom game modes have created an enormous development ecosystem around it.
So let's imagine you had complete freedom to add one major feature to Minecraft.
What would it be?
Maybe a new progression system. A completely new dimension. Advanced NPC behavior. Better multiplayer systems. A new building mechanic. A deep automation system. More advanced world simulation. Better server administration. Something completely experimental.
For developers already working with Minecraft, what tools are you using?
Fabric, Forge, Paper, Spigot, Bukkit, plugins, datapacks, commands, server APIs, custom clients, resource packs?
And what has been the hardest part?
Minecraft development can be surprisingly complex because game versions change, APIs evolve, mappings change, server and client behavior interact, and performance becomes important surprisingly quickly.
Share what you're currently building, what version you're targeting, and what kind of Minecraft development you're interested in.
I'd love for this community to become a place where developers can show experimental mechanics, exchange technical knowledge, share tools, and find collaborators.
